Product Information
 
The briquette press is a raw type press designed for continuous heavy duty operation with two load wheels. One of the load wheels acts as a pulley and is driven by the main motor through flat belt. Forced lubrication is provided by oil lubrication system which gives longer life to the briquette press.

Dry and homogeneous prepared powder form from raw material is few through screw conveyor to kupy by means of vertical screws with its own geared motor. It recompresses and forces the material downwards into the feeder boxes.  From the feeder boxes the material is forced by the ram through a taper die system -- the cooling tower in the form of briquettes. The total operation should be continuous and it is controlled and operated by panel board. Panel board also includes safety measurements.

Various Raw Materials like Barks Wood, Coffee Husk, Coir Pitch, Cotton Stalk, Forestry Waste, Groundnut Shell Waste, Jute Waste, Mustard Shell, Paddy Straw, Palm Husk, Rice Husks, Sawdust Waste, Soya Bean Husk, Wheat Straw, Wood Chips, etc. can be used to create Industrial Fuel using Briquette Machine.
 
Briquetting press is mainly of two types:
  • SUPER - 60: Briquettes produced from this press is 60 mm; are of two types, first gives 550 Kg / Hour. output and second 750 Kg / Hour.
  • JUMBO - 90: Briquettes produced from this press is 90 mm.; this press does not require powder making units and it gives 1500 Kg / Hrs production.
Powder Making Unit / Sizing Up Unit
  • Screw Conveyor: With reduction gear and electric motor for regular feeding of raw material of hammer mill
  • Hammer Mill: With electric motor, V-belt pulley is made up of 60-65 nose blunt end hanging blades and 25 nos. of fixed head blades to convert raw material into powder form according to requirement.
  • Blower & Conveying Plant: Raw material passes through hammer mill & directly sucked by the blower and conveying pipe and transferred to storage bin (Holding bin) through cyclone. Cyclone acts as a separator of air and powder from raw material
  • Holding Bin: Approximately one ton capacity powder from raw material can be stored in holding bin. It is fixed in super 60 plant dust free and acts as an isolated storage room from briquette press
  • Screw Conveyor: Smaller size screw conveyor with counter system or reduction gear and electric motor for feeding the powder from raw material to briquette press
  • Cutter (Chipper): Generally it is not required; but required in special cases for handling raw material of large size in long stick form like cotton stalk, custard stalk, etc. It requires cutter to make small 20-40 mm length pieces of raw materials for easy feeding to hammer mill.

Incentives by the Government

The government of India has announced a series of incentives for promoting this project for installing such plants to clients engaged in developing alternative energy source.
 
The major incentives are:

  • 100% Depreciation: The total value of plant and machinery is allowed to be depreciated in the first year
  • Excise Exemption: The solid fuel briquettes are completely exempted from Excise duty. The Government is also considering exemption in the case of plant and machinery
  • Sales Tax Exemption: The various states like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, Delhi & Pondicherry have exempted solid fuels briquettes from sales tax. Other states are also considering the same and many states are offering sales tax exemption in backward areas
  • No Licenses: The whole industry of non conventional energy sources has been exempted for obtaining any license
  • Benefits of Priority Sectors: Energy being the prime factor of development and considering the cost of project, benefits of SSI and priority sector are available. 

Bagasse and Press Mud--A Potential Source of Power

Bagasse is a fibrous residue left after the extraction of juice from sugarcane. The quantity of bagasse depends on the fiber content of sugarcane. Availability of bagasse is very high in various states of India like South Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. Almost the entire quantity of bagasse produced in India is used as a captive fuel in the sugar factories for generating steam in the boiler to drive the prime mover and to boil the concentrated sugarcane juice. Sugar mill bagasse contains about 48% moisture after drying in special type of furnaces. After drying & briquetting, calorific value of briquetted bagasse is 4700 K Cal. / Kg.
 
In addition to bagasse, sugar mill waste (Press Mud) is available in large quantities which is approx 3-5 % of the sugarcane crushed; press mud is either thrown away or is used as a cheap fertilizer.
 
The use of this cheap fertilizer gives low yield as compared to the modern fertilizer available; however, the major quantity of press mud goes just as a waste. The briquettes made from press mud after drying have calorific value of 400 K Cal. / Kg.
